In his grandfather's footprints

The spirit and confidence of the new generation of men in Bollywood can truly be understood by the decision of Ranbir Kappor to get behind the camera to direct a movie soon.

Just two films old and being touted as one of the most promising new comers in Bollywood in the recent times, the grandson of the legendary Raj Kapoor made it known a couple of days back that if he had the chance, he would have got into the director's seat earlier.

He is eager to direct as well as act in the movie which he is planning to make.

He is also very keen to revive the celebrated legacy of RK Films which gave Bollywood several iconic and memorable movies in its days of glory years back.

"My aim is not super stardom. My target is to achieve what my grandfather did."

These are the words of Ranbir and from this we can clearly make out the high standards that this Kapoor cub has set up to achieve.

His father and mother are both actors who have a great track list in their respective careers in the Tinsel-Town.

Although Raj Kapoor is known as a visionary who was equally at ease in acting, producing as well as directing, no other members of the famous Bollywood family embraced the challenge of being a film maker of repute in the recent times except the son of Shammi Kapoor, who has made some offbeat films like 'Sambar Salsa' which cannot be labeled as a mainstream B-Town movie.

When the amazing talent of the Kapoor family is considered, the young age of Ranbir will never come into the picture as a hindrance or cast a doubt in others mind about his ability to give life to stories on the big screen.

May be the directorial ambitions of Ranbir Kapoor is the start of a new era and who knows he must be a new Raj Kapoor in making.

Let the time and destiny reveal its own plans.
