Mishap on the sets

Jacky Bhagnani

The shooting of Vashu Bhagnani's Kal Kisne Dekha suffered a major setback when a fire broke out on Sunday night near Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus. The film is the acting debut of Vashu Bhagnani's son, Jacky. Director Vivek Sharma who was shooting an important chase sequence since early morning lost about 30 exposed cans resulting in a loss of nearly Rs 35 lakh.

Vivek Sharma said, "Yes, the vanity van caught fire due to a short circuit. We lost the entire raw stock and all the work of almost two-and-a-half shifts. We lost the entire chase sequence that we had shot since 7am.

We had shot for this scene with Jacky Bhagnani with a three camera set up and had hired 50 cars for the sequence. We had also taken special permission to shoot at Marine Drive where we had managed to get some amazing shots.

Rishiji (Kapoor) joined us in the evening and he and Jacky shot together. We needed just two more shots to complete the entire shoot. However, it was our misfortune that the van in which all the exposed raw stock was kept caught fire. We lost almost five minutes film time."

"Just an hour before the fire broke out, we had kept the raw stock in the van as it was air conditioned. In fact, I am glad that no one was hurt. Fortunately, Jacky had just got out of the van a few minutes before the mishap. We called the fire brigade and they were there in a few minutes. But the fire was so bad that everything was destroyed in minutes.

We took the burnt raw stock to the processing lab but they said that it was of no use now. It was the last day that Rishiji was shooting for the schedule and now, as I am going location hunting to the Philippines, I will have to come back and get fresh dates to shoot the sequence with him all over again," added Vivek.
