His nephew, the cutesy, Imran Khan, who will make his debut in Aamir’s home production, Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na revealed this piece of information. Apparently, Aamir’s hair style in his much-acclaimed directorial venture, Taare Zameen Par, was based on Imran’s hair-cut. Not at all modest while making this claim (perhaps the most endearing factor about this youngster), Imran said, “He (Aamir) copied my hairstyle for TZP. In the movie he has a signature style, sort of a Mohawk look and that was inspired by my haircut.”

Talking about his first film, Imran states that he actually wanted to be a director, but then the story of Jaane Tu…was so nice, that he couldn’t just let it go. He says, “My character’s name in the film is Jai Singh Rathore. Don’t just go by the name though. I play a simple, silent character. I am a normal, middle class college going boy who is not the stud or the hero of the college.”

While Jaane Tu… is being promoted as Imran’s debut film, his first stint in front of the camera was with Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander. In this blockbuster, he played Aamir’s character as a child. Perhaps that explains this newbie’s confidence in front of the camera. Though most newcomers have that hesitance and certain meekness within them to open up to the media, Imran is anything but conscious about his debutante tag.

Casually reminiscing the time he has spent with Aamir Maamu, he says, “When I was around 10-11 years old, he (Aamir) thought, I needed a hair-cut and decided to do the honours himself. He gave me such a bad hair-cut that I had to go and get it done all over again.” With his devil-may-care attitude and confident mannerisms, looks like this lad is here to stay.
