Kareena Kapoor’s 27th birthday was celebrated at the remote town of Kargil; because that was the only place her boyfriend Saif Ali Khan could get to.
Says a source, “Saif flew from New Delhi to Srinagar as direct flights to Leh were cancelled due to bad weather. He decided to drive from Srinagar to Kargil on Saturday — a trip that takes seven hours — as he couldn’t wait any more. Bebo also had to drive down to Kargil from a remote location on the outskirts of Leh — where she was shooting for Raj Kumar Hirani’s 3 Idiots — because of the bad weather there. She was accompanied by close friends Reena Pillai and director Lovely Singh (Kya Love Story Hai). They were all put up at a quaint lodge. On her arrival on Saturday night, Saif organised a birthday party on the lodge’s terrace. He ensured that there was a band and music, a large cake and even a bonfire! The four had a small get-together.”

Says a source close to Kareena, “She has been shooting non-stop over the past year and has been living out of her bags.”
Kareena has been very busy since last year’s much appreciated performance in Jab We Met, a role for which she received many awards.
