Big B close to signing first global project

Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan may feature in an international film project to be made by makers of the 2006 Oscar-winning documentary March of the Penguin.

The actor, who is in Paris, wrote on his blog that he may give his consent to the project which will be made in English. It will be produced and directed by the French makers of March of the Penguin.

The new film will be set in India and France. Perhaps work starts next year end. That is all that one can talk of right now, he said.

Bachchan had earlier written that director Luc Jacquet wanted him in his film and the two would be meeting in Paris to discuss the details.

March of the Penguin, about Antarctica's emperor Penguins, earned $ 77 million at the US box office.

Big B also said he had got a Hollywood offer. "There is another project from the writer of Taxi Driver and Raging Bull from Hollywood and I shall need to see the script before I consider any further," he said.
