The latest chapter in Govinda's paranoia was witnessed on the sets of Do Lucky. The actor is convinced that the assistant directors of the film are out to get him.
Underworld ka darr
Last week, the actor-turned-MP walked into the sets and told Raj Mehta, the head honcho of Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision that he wanted the names, phones and address of all assistant directors on the sets. Says a source from the unit, "Govinda told the producer that he felt the assistants' actions were suspicious. The actor felt they would give his supari to the underworld people or pass on information about him to people who want him bumped off."
Baiting his beti?
The source further adds, "Govinda's daughter Narmada often drops in on the sets to visit her dad and Chi Chi felt that they didn't look at his daughter appropriately and he felt her life was in danger too. He wants the details of all the names and addresses of director Neeraj Vora's clan as well, as he intends to file FIRs against them in case something bad happens to him and his daughter in the days ahead."
The producer wasn't comfortable giving out personal details of the assistants, and came up with an alternate plan.
Mehta told the director Neeraj that since they just had a few more days of shooting before completing the film, it might be a good idea to ask his assistants to stay at home, and get himself a fresh bunch of ADs! This is highly irregular. Every director works with a crew that he is comfortable with. It's difficult to get a new set of people for a few days but there was little choice.
Slap-happy
Incidentally, the actor had slapped the director of the film last week on the sets of the film. As he felt that the director had planned to humiliate him by letting Aryan Vaid the villain of the movie slapping him.
Govinda remained unavailable for comment.
The spokesperson for SACV says, "Govinda must've said something like this for sure, but he hasn't come with the same problem to us."
